Delivery
Once your purchase has been completed, some questions regarding delivery might come to your mind. Maison Éthier would like to ease your mind of any doubt you may have on its delivery service.
Delivery Schedule
We deliver from Monday to Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It is impossible to foresee the time it will take from one delivery to the other (traffic, weather, etc.). In spite of all our efforts, we cannot predict precisely at what time of your delivery.
Nevertheless we can give you an approximation, for example, before or after noon. Our delivery service calls all customers the day before delivery for confirmation and approximate time slot.
Delivery delays
If merchandise is in stock, a delivery date has already been scheduled on your sales contract.

When merchandise is on order, we will contact you as soon as we receive it.
If you wish to change your delivery date, please contact us 7 to 10 days before the scheduled date for a Saturday delivery and 2 to 3 days for a weekday delivery. Be aware that specific days are set aside for delivery in certain regions.
Not at home when delivery arrives
If you were not at home to receive your merchandise, the delivery men will leave you a note, telling you they’ve been and asking you to contact our delivery service to reschedule. Unfortunately, if you missed your delivery, an additional delay and extra cost may be added to your bill.

Service offered on delivery
The merchandise will be uncrated and placed where you like if the space is adequate. Merchandise not sold assembled will not be assembled. Our after sales department can suggest the name of firms specializing in assembling or installing merchandise. Dining room and bedroom sets valued at more than $4,000.00 will be assembled on delivery by our delivery personnel or by a Maison Éthier sub-contractor. Installation fees will be added to merchandise of less than $4,000.00. If you need this service, you must ask your salesperson before delivery and he or she will add the amount to your sales contract. Assembly of steel bed frames for bedding will also be charged to the customer.
The packing material is brought back for recycling by our delivery personnel (unless you ask to keep it).
The delivery men are not authorized to move or bring back furniture unless agreed to (with added cost) by the delivery supervisor.
Installation of appliances or electronics.
No installation is included with the sale of appliances and electronics. Installation fees are added for the installation of legs, handles, washer/dryer stacking kits etc. If that service is needed, mention it to your salesperson who will add the fess to your sales contract. The installation will be done by our delivery personnel or by a Maison Éthier subcontractor.
We strongly suggest that the installation of electrical appliances or electronics be done by qualified persons, such as a plumber for a dishwasher and technician for electronic components.
You must wait one hour before plugging in a new refrigerator. You must also wait for electronic components to reach room temperature before plugging them in.
We strongly suggest for you to read all instruction and operating document for your appliance or component. It provides a precise explanation on the use and care of your purchase.
Retrieval of old electrical appliances
We retrieve and recycle old electrical appliances. If you need this service, you must mention it to your salesperson at the time of purchase. He will note it on your sales contract. Make sure you the old appliance is empty, unplugged and ready to be taken away before the arrival of the delivery personnel.
Damaged merchandise
Merchandise can be damaged through its handling between the manufacturer, our warehouses and delivery. These damages might only be visible when the merchandise is unwrapped or uncrated. Here are some of the situations that might occur:
- The appliance does not function
- The merchandise is damaged
- The furniture is torn, scratched or broken
- Some parts are missing for assembly

Practical Tips
Here are a few common-sense tips that will ensure a prompt and smooth delivery:
- Please be aware ahead of time where you would like the merchandise to be placed.
- Measure your doorways, stairs and hallways to be sure the delivery can be done safely.
- If merchandise does not fit through doorways, extra cost may be added to your bill: For example: Dismantling furniture, carpentry work such as removing door frames etc.
- Clear the area where our delivery staff will have to work
- Protect your floors, carpets and other materials. CSST article 344 states that our employees must keep their work boots on at all time.
- During winter, make sure your walkways are snow and ice free to avoid injuries
- Furniture must be lifted before being moved to avoid scratching the floors. Felt pads are recommended under the furniture legs. Make sure no staples or sharp objects are present on the bottom of the furniture. Maison Éthier cannot be held responsible for floors that were scratched before or after delivery.
